AGNES CECILE
Agnes Cecile is a water colour painter who I came across on tumblr. I usually avoid water colour as I never found it to be one of my fortes. However, her work really caught my eye and it inspired me in my paintings to be more loose with my brush even when I use acrylic. Her paintings have a lot of emotion and movement to them. I especially love how she allows the paint to pour down the page as I find it gives a really interesting effect which would be very useful within my project to express blood pouring or the draining of a woman's energy due to the pressures she puts on herself and those that society puts on her.

These portraits below really caught my eye. You can see this style of photography has inspired me in my various photo shoots.

| I think this particular photo doesn't just inspire me with it's style, but the specific mood that it expresses is very suitable to my theme. I believe it expresses constriction, beauty, and certainly darkness through the use of dramatic make-up. Personally, I love when the hands become involved in a portrait. I love drawing hands and I find that they really add drama and beauty to the piece. This inspired me when taking the gruesome bloody portraits of a woman holding a heart, except I chose to make mine far more morbid than this. |

Whilst this portrait has a far more natural essence to it. She's not a stereotypical model. Through closing up on the face quite tightly, we focus on the features. Her eyes have so much real emotion in them and they stand out beautifully. I also think the lips have a lot of emotion to express as well, a very feminine feature. The hair blowing into the shot makes the portrait look fresh and breezy, accentuating a natural and calm atmosphere.
